Trustees Message

After almost eight years of existence in Delhi/Allahabad the Foundation was relocated in Neemuch. It became operational from here from November, 2007. This shifting was facilitated by Mrs. Shobhna Gupta Allahabad, Er. Sanjeev Agarwal Delhi as also Shri Mohan Lal Garg, Neemuch. The people are grateful for this generous help of theirs.

As recorded in a footnote in Disbursement Table the amount distributed as scholarship was purposely limited in the initial years after Registration in Jan.1999 to enable growth of Corpus Fund. For this special permission had to be taken by Trustees from the Income Tax authorities, that is, to reinvest earnings in Corpus higher than 15% of income; the upper limit allowed by Income Tax Act then. By denying themselves the past team of Trustees enabled the growth of fixed deposits. We appreciate this gesture by them.

Mr. P.K. Tikku got his education at Neemuch. He gave his services at Neemuch and Nayagaon. To pay his debt to his motherland, the soil of Neemuch, He started Tikku Education Foundation which has helped many students till now, by providing them resources like scholarship etc. so that they an get education. We'd like to express our sincere gratitude for this.

This year, in 2017, the committee has been reformed. This new committee has decided to maximize the fund collection as well as scholarship distributed. Also, the committee is pleased to announce that new applications for scholarships are now invited.

Trustees are happy to place on web site following message and photos received by Founder in response to our donation of Rs. 10,000/- to Children of MA Foundation .

Jai Ma, Mr. Tikku!

I am attaching some photos from Ma Sharanam. We have made such amazing progress at the Ashram and School, as you can see from these photos. Children of Ma is supported by donors in the United States, Europe, and India. This year, we have our first donation from the Tikku Foundation Neemuch MP. The funds from the Tikku foundation are particularly set aside for support for our students who want to continue their education after high school.

  1. The entrance to Ma Sharanam Ashram. The bougainvillea has thrived, and the driveway is lined with flowers. It’s gorgeous!
  2. The guesthouse: All of us would LOVE for you to visit Ma Sharanam! The guest rooms are comfortable, with private western-style bathrooms. To book your room, just send an email toashram.reservations@gmail.com. Questions? Ask us! info@childrenofma.org
  3. Teachers welcoming the children to the first day of school, placing a tilak on each forehead.
  4. The children at morning prayer during the pre-school assembly. (I love that photo!)
  5. The Ma Sharanam children in the new school year. We have 181 children this year, from pre-school through Grade 10. On the far left, you can see the youngest children – most are four or five years old, but last year there was one three-year-old toddling about!
  6. Young men attending class at the new training program for computer skills. After the students complete this program, Ma Sharanam will assist them with finding jobs in Indore, a nearby city.
  7. And finally, a group of the children who join us in thanking you!

We are particularly grateful for the help of the Tikku Foundation, as Children of Ma works with Ma Sharanam to provide best quality education for these wonderful children.

Jai Ma!
